Challenges
  1. Spanish Language: We overcame this difficulty using translation tools.
  2. The initial scope was to create a new model from CAD plans, which was later on changed to working on an existing structural model and matching it to the point cloud scans which led to a lot of work loss.
  3. The exterior structural columns were part of the facades and were a single column running from the bottom-most floor till the top. Not all scans from different floors matched with the column and thus we were asked to split the columns on each floor. The structural cores (shear walls) also had to be split floor-wise.
  4. The floor slabs in the model were even, but in the scans provided, the floor slabs were undulated, and to match it as per scan we had to place points, edit and modify each sub-points.
