Project Objective

The task was to develop Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Model at LOD 350 in the Architecture Model comprising of Structure in Revit using CAD drawings, pdf. The work to be done in MEP Model included all HVAC, Water service, Drainage, Vent, Gas service, Electrical services, Lighting, Power & Fire Alarm services. Alignment of CAD files, positioning along with scaling according to the architectural grids, coordinates were also to be done. We also had to create Revit Families with content incorporation as per technical submittals for the extraction of COBIE data.

We have completed this project for a renowned Architectural and Engineering company in UK. We have completed several projects for them which includes the MEP scope in their projects.

Project Summary

We had to coordinate MEP system internally as well as with Architectural and Structural Model and preparing quantity take off using Navisworks. The sheet set up had to be done for the construction drawings which included tagging, annotations and dimensions.

Challenges
  • Coordinating the MEP model in the 950 MM attic space height consisting of numerous services was a difficult task.
  • Leaving/maintaining clearances as per the client requirements in between the MEP Services with insulation was a challenging task.
  • Maintaining riser alignment during coordination was a major hectic work in the shaft room.
